We Need Your Help to Save Buddy!

Buddy is just one of those great dogs.  Adopted from Delaware Puppy Rescue, his mother and father were both strays – His mom is a Lab and his father is a Great Dane.

At the age of 4 months it was noticed that he had difficulty going up steps.  His condition continued to worsen and after many vet visits he has been diagnosed with severe hip dysplaysia.  Today, at 14 months and 100 lbs. he still cannot climb steps or get into the car without human help.  His back legs are weak, he limps on his left leg, wobbles when he walks and falls while playing with other dogs.

Although Buddy is on pain medication, he is still has pain and the medicine upsets his stomach.  Buddy went to 3 orthopedic veterinarians: They all said the same thing: both of Buddy’s hips are bad but the left hip is much worse - the (ball bone) is rubbing on the rim of his (hip socket bone) [see xray below with arrow]. This is what is causing Buddy to limp.
Buddy hip

Buddy's vets at the University of Penn say he needs a hip replacement on his left hip as soon as possible to be free of pain.  They emphasized that Buddy would not have any quality of life without a hip replacement. They said we must either replace his hip, or put him down.

I cannot allow Buddy to live in pain, and, I cannot put him down.  I love Buddy so much, and am saving what I can towards the $5,600 dollars needed to give Buddy a new hip.   I am also asking friends and relatives for donations.

Buddy really needs your help and perhaps you could ask a friend to help.  Buddy and I so much appreciate whatever amount you can donate towards his hip replacement.

Your donation means so much, because your gift will bring Buddy that much closer to the day he will live without pain.
All donations, no matter the amount are appreciated.
